CLEVER TREVOR AND RACEPROVED PROVIDE SUPPORT TO TERRY GRANT
Terry Grant is a stunt driver known throughout the world and holder of numerous world records for his exploits in a variety of cars including a TVR Tamora. With Terry's style of driving a great deal of stress is put on all parts of the cars, especially the clutch. Terry found that he was using up clutches at an alarming rate as well as having problems with loss of clutch due to overheating fluid so he came to Clever Trevor for help. We spoke to Raceproved who immediately agreed to develop special lightweight plates that would be stronger than the original. After a period of development the first set of plates were provided and installed in the Tamora along with an alloy slave cylinder that provided better heat dissipation. Terry was immediately delighted with it the new set up and reported no problems at all. We were recently contacted by Terry who asked if he could have a replacement for the original plates as they were beginning to wear having lasted six times longer than the normal plates! These plates are of the metallic paddle type (see picture) and will shortly become available on our website for those who have hard-used road cars. New plates were prepared and we were able to present them to Terry at the Autosport Show at the NEC. Once again Terry expressed his delight at the quality and durability of these units which were still as responsive as when first installed. Terry also expressed his desire to have a greater association with Clever Trevor and Raceproved. Little did we know how soon that was going to happen ............. but that is another story!

HOT LAPS FOR CLEVER TREVOR STAFF AND FAMILY
On a cold December day we were invited to Snetterton race circuit in Norfolk to experience the thrill of being driven around the circuit at break-neck speed. Having been one of the sponsors of the Ginetta driven by Dan Laddiman we were asked along with all the other sponsors of the team to attend a "thank you" day. It was a bright sunny day but the wind was howling across the wide open spaces of the Norfolk countryside and it was thanks to the catering efforts of Dan's Mum, Soozie, that we did not freeze to death whilst waiting our turn for a ride. The car in use was the T-Car that Dan had campaigned in as a 14 to 16 year-old and although it was achieving lap times as quick as the Porsches and TVRs that were on track it was at a clear disadvantage in terms of speed on the straight. As the first passengers came back from their rides it was clear that it was well worth the wait as the grins stretched from ear to ear. At last it was my turn and I clambered into the passenger seat with no idea what to expect despite listening to the comments from the previous victims! We went speeding out of the pit-lane and headed flat-out towards the first corner, Riches, which we seemed to take with no braking at all. On and around Sear onto the Revett Straight and it was here that the other cars were able to show their superior pace. Heading towards the bridge into the Esses while everybody else was standing on the bakes we seemed to keep the power full-on. We were flying past other cars around the outside as we went through the Bomb Hole and Coram Curve and then on the brakes to jink through Russell before completing a lap. It felt as though we were completely on the limit and yet at the same time never likely to end-up off the track. Dan later told me that he was disappointed as he had too much grip and was not able to get the back of the car drifting out as he came through the Bomb Hole! This was a really thrilling experience for Keith (and his son Daniel), Graham and David - the Clever Trevor Team. Thanks to Dan (who took us on the ride of a lifetime), Phil (Team Ladders Principal and Mechanic) Emma (who made certain that everybody was safely strapped iside the car) and Soozie (who provided the food and drink that kept us going during the day). We are looking forward to the next one!
